It was an absolute pleasure working with Chancellors Chartered Accountants and assisting them with transforming their existing workplace. Base was tasked with designing a fit out that met the functional needs of the client in a small and unusually shaped tenancy, while creating a space that reflected both the traditional and contemporary aspects of the business and embraced the history and features of the beautiful heritage building that they occupy.

The approach to the design aesthetic of the fit out is the fusion of elements inspired by the Art Deco architecture of the building and the unique history of the business itself, with a pared back contemporary look and feel in keeping with the progressive nature of the company. Soft white, grey and timber creates a base that is calm and inviting, with subtle accents of blue (in reference to the company branding) and black which provides contrast against the understated palette. Elements such as the black accents and fluted profiles of the acoustic and joinery panels demonstrate thoughtful detailing and reflect the existing heritage features. Sheer curtains provide privacy and help to create a serene atmosphere. The intentional inclusion of greenery adds life to the space. It is the combined effect of these thoughtful layers of design, that collectively create a beautiful and cohesive space.

The planning of this tenancy, challenging in its shape, size and existing constraints aims to meet the functional requirements of the business while creating a more open and collaborative space that takes full advantage of the natural light and the engaging views, and showcases historic features such as the beautiful windows and quaint built-in cupboards which can now be fully appreciated through the newly arranged spaces. The reimagined interior of Chancellors provides a workplace that is as functional as it is beautiful and is a pleasure to occupy to all who use it - staff, clients and colleagues alike.
