The new Headspace at Beaudesert is a small centre with a big heart. Base was delighted to partner with long standing client, Stride for the design and construction of their latest offering in Brisbane. Constraints such as existing services and structural elements and changes in floor and ceiling levels were considered carefully and seamlessly integrated into the layout. A fresh take on the headspace branding was adopted through the allocation of shapes and colour blocking of rooms to give them their own unique identity and aesthetic. The Headspace team has embraced this approach with the addition of curated and customised décor, to the delight of the young people who use the centre. Real timber battens add warmth and character, with subtle references to the headspace branding through the playful ‘confetti-sprinkled’ carpet. Collaboration with the youth reference group provided invaluable insight and helped to inform the design and its detailing. Base is proud to have been able to assist Stride with the delivery of another headspace centre for the continuation of their important work in the support of the health and well-being of young people in our community.
