Headspace Emerald is the result of several years of planning by the dedicated management team at Anglicare, the lead agency for the centre, for the provision of a youth support services hub for the region. Base was thrilled to be able to assist Anglicare with the design and fit out, and to support their vision for this community centre. The intent was to create a warm, welcoming and ‘home-like’ space. The architecture of the two storey building also leant itself to this approach. The interior design imitates elements of a home such as timber flooring, VJ wall panelling, bespoke joinery and details such as paned windows and window boxes for greenery. Accents of the signature headspace branding colours are balanced by a soft palette of warm greys. Carefully curated furniture and soft furnishings, feature lighting and details such as the art shelves allow for personalisation of the space. The layout has been carefully planned to maximise the functionality of the centre and the provision of key spaces such as consult rooms and work hub areas, and to optimise the natural light throughout. The end result is a light, bright and positive space which aims to support the work and spirits of all those who use it.
